Serbia’s president vows more arrests after huge antigovernment protests | Protests News

Out of 77 people arrested, 38 remain in custody, most of whom are now facing criminal charges.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has warned of more arrests following violent clashes at a large protest in Belgrade demanding early elections, where he accused organizers of inciting violence. Despite significant public dissent, Vucic, who has faced criticism for authoritarianism, insists there will be no elections until 2026, claiming the protests are part of a foreign plot against his government.
