German voters have spoken in the recent election, leading to the rearrangement of seats in the Bundestag chamber in Berlin’s Reichstag building to reflect the new political landscape. With five groups in the new parliament, the far-right Alternative for Germany and the Left Party will sit at opposite ends, while the center-right and center-left parties will be in between. The outgoing Bundestag made last-minute decisions to increase defense spending and invest in infrastructure before the 21st Bundestag convenes for its first session, with the new speaker likely to be Julia Klöckner from the conservative Union bloc.
