Two sea lions, Holly and Maui, have been relocated from Marineland to the Vancouver Aquarium as part of a coordinated effort to find long-term homes for animals affected by Marineland’s closure. Both 18 years old, they are currently acclimating in a separate pool before meeting the aquarium’s resident male sea lion. The relocation is part of Marineland’s broader initiative to move its remaining animals, including 30 belugas and other marine and land species, amid concerns about their care and future.
