A behind-the-scenes photo from Captain America: Brave New World reveals an unused comic-accurate design of The Leader, with a large cranium that did not make it to the final cut. Director Julius Onah explained the decision to change the character to be more emotionally resonant, enhancing the practical effects with visual effects. The Leader’s role was originally more prominent, leading the creation of the Serpent Society and acting as a central mastermind in the story.
