Tributes have been paid to a young Aussie Rules player who tragically died after becoming unwell during a match at the weekend.
Kingdom Kangaroos player Ross McGhie, 25, passed away on Saturday April 13.
The Leven lad is understand to have suffered a cardiac arrest while his team was playing their first game of the season against the Glasgow Giants in Linlithgow that afternoon.
His devastated mum Morna Hill shared the news on social media and said her family has been left “heartbroken”.

She said: “This is the hardest post I have ever had to write but last night I got the phone call that every parent dreads.
“Ross, my oldest son, took unwell whilst playing the game he loved with the friends he loved.
“Despite the best care of the amazing doctor’s trying to restart his heart, Ross died last night. He was only 25.
“We are all heartbroken.”
Kingdom Kangaroos hailed Ross as a “talented and cherished teammate”.
A post on their Facebook page read: “The Kingdom Kangaroos are devastated at the passing of senior player Ross McGhie – a cherished teammate and friend who was beloved by all.
“Incredibly brave and talented, Ross had recently been elevated into the Roos’ leadership group, such was his high standing within the club. He was ever selfless and loved by all within the playing group.
“Our thoughts and sincere condolences go out to his family and friends.”
Ross also played for amateur sports team Glenrothes Rugby Club as a senior. He had played for the team through his childhood.
The club said: “It’s with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of one of our friends and senior players Ross McGhie. Our love and condolences go out to all his friends and family.”

Many more tributes flooded in for the young player, who was described as an “inspiration” in his local community.
William Hunter said: “Ross, you were one in a million. Can’t believe it. Truly one of the best guys I’ve had the pleasure of working with. A great friend. Thanks for the memories, I will treasure them forever.”
Ross was also a keen BMX rider and had been one of the key players behind bringing an indoor skatepark to Fife.
Jack Smith said: “Thoughts go out to Ross’s family can’t imagine what they must be feeling right now, hope your shredding that skatepark in the sky brother.”

“You always had time for the other riders, helping them out, hyping everyone up, and even regularly helping an old dog like me learn some new tricks!
“You always brought something special and everyone always ended up laughing along when you were around.
Despite your tough exterior, you had a gentleness and kindness about you that everyone warmed to. Just reading through all the tributes shows how much you are loved
