Indian astronomers from NISER have discovered a unique tri-star solar system, ‘GG Tau A’, using the APEX radio telescope in Chile’s Atacama Desert. This system, 5 million years old, with a massive protoplanetary disk, offers insights into planetary formations. Led by scientist Liton Majumdar, the team detected molecular emissions from the coldest regions, revealing key details about the formation of planets and the complexities of a three-star system.
