Rachel Reeves has announced a £1.4 billion earmark to rebuild schools, prioritizing education and childcare in the Budget. Investment in free breakfast clubs for pupils will triple, along with an additional £1.8 billion for expanding government-funded nursery care. However, concerns have been raised about the adequacy of funding, as many schools under a rebuilding scheme still lack builders, with only 62 contracts awarded out of over 400.
