Saudi-led coalition strikes Yemen, STC leader al-Zubaidi reported fled
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Saudi-led coalition targeted secessionist forces in Yemen’s Dali governorate after STC leader Aidarous al-Zubaidi failed to board a plane for talks in Riyadh, fleeing to an unknown location. The coalition launched preemptive strikes to prevent al-Zubaidi from escalating the conflict, as he mobilised a large force with heavy weapons in Dhali. The STC, backed by the UAE, seeks independence in southern Yemen and recently seized control of territories, prompting clashes with Saudi-backed government troops. The situation remains tense as peace talks are underway without al-Zubaidi’s presence.
