SAQ employees walk off the job on Monday

Approximately 5,000 unionized employees of the SAQ will strike on Monday due to management not addressing their contract demands, marking the fifth strike day in 21 months. The union is seeking a higher salary increase of 20% over five years, compared to the SAQ’s offer of 16.5% over six years. The strike has been ongoing since March 31, 2023, with previous strike days in April and October.
