23-year-old Alejandro Garcia Aranda, a resident of Sylmar, pleaded guilty to distributing explicit images of minors in an online sextortion scheme in the San Fernando Valley. Aranda used his Instagram handle, “valleyhoezzz818,” to advertise and sell over 600 images and videos containing child pornography, extorting high school victims for more compromising content. He received payment via various online platforms and sent explicit material to customers via Instagram direct message. Aranda faces five to 20 years in federal prison and is scheduled for sentencing on Feb. 18, 2025.
