Samsung drops Android 16 beta for Galaxy S25 with more AI you probably don’t want

The upcoming version of Android is set to launch for Pixel phones in June, but Samsung is advancing more quickly than usual with the One UI 8 beta, based on Android 16, available now for Galaxy S25 owners. Users can easily sign up through the Samsung Members app, with a 3.4GB OTA update that installs quickly without affecting data, though backups are recommended. The beta is limited to users in the US, Germany, Korea, or the UK, with US devices needing to be unlocked or T-Mobile variants, while compatibility is restricted to the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra.
