Former top Macau judge Sam Hou-fai has emerged as the city’s sole chief executive candidate, securing 96% of nominations from the election committee. Sam, the former head of Macau’s Court of Final Appeal, submitted his bid with 383 out of 400 Chief Executive Election Committee nominations, surpassing the required 66 nominations. His nomination numbers exceeded those of current Macau Chief Executive Ho, making him a strong contender for the upcoming October 13 leadership election.
