The Salvation Army East City Corps in Howick, Wellington Street, is closing permanently on Friday, March 14 after 38 years of service, contributions, and fellowship with east Auckland. The closure decision was made by Salvation Army hierarchy in Wellington due to the location becoming unsustainable, but services can still be accessed at other Salvation Army locations in Mt Wellington and Flat Bush. Despite the closure, the Salvation Army remains committed to helping Kiwis and their families across New Zealand, with a focus on addressing poverty and basic needs.
