Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, the son of former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, has been reported killed in Zintan, Libya. Serving as his father’s number two from 2000 to 2011, he was captured during the opposition’s takeover of Tripoli in 2011 and released in 2017. Gaddafi, educated in the West, played a prominent role in Libya’s relations with the West and faced allegations of torture and violence.
