Sister First Nations oppose mining exploration in Ontario and Manitoba

Leaders from Sachigo Lake First Nation and Red Sucker Lake First Nation have criticized Signature Resources Ltd. for conducting mining exploration on their traditional territories without consent. They held a press conference at Queen’s Park, expressing concerns over environmental risks and the impact on their hunting and fishing rights. Signature Resources claims to have attempted to engage with the First Nations and seeks to establish a partnership for employment opportunities. The Ontario government stated it will continue dialogue with the affected communities.
