Russia-Ukraine live: Putin’s drones ‘shot down over Kyiv’ hours after world leaders gather for anniversary

Ukraine’s air forces have reported destroying 16 out of 18 attack drones launched overnight by Russia, including over the capital. This attack occurred shortly after western leaders gathered in Kyiv to commemorate two years since Russia’s invasion. European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen visited Kyiv and pledged Europe’s support until Ukraine is “finally free.” Demonstrations were held in capitals around the world to protest against the war, including in London and Dublin. In Moscow, Russian police detained at least four people, including reporters, at a protest outside the Kremlin by the wives of mobilized soldiers fighting in Ukraine.
