Russia will continue support for Cuba following first oil shipment

Russia has pledged to continue supporting Cuba, following a shipment of crude oil from a Russian tanker, the first in three months. Foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova emphasized solidarity with Cuba and called for the US to lift its energy blockade. The shipment, which arrived amid an ongoing energy crisis in Cuba exacerbated by the loss of oil supplies from Venezuela, is expected to temporarily alleviate fuel shortages.
