Russia to respond to US weapons deployment in Greenland

Moscow has stated it is prepared for military responses if the U.S. deploys weapons in Greenland, particularly related to the proposed Golden Dome missile defense system. This assertion by Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov comes ahead of the expiration of the New START treaty, which limits U.S. and Russian nuclear arsenals. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov warned that the end of the treaty marks a perilous shift in global security. Ryabkov emphasized that without significant U.S. policy changes, strategic dialogue will remain stalled.
