Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF), led by commander Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo (Hemedti), announced a unilateral three-month humanitarian truce amid ongoing civil war. This declaration follows General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan’s rejection of a ceasefire proposal from the Quad, which he criticized for being biased. Hemedti emphasized the truce aims to enhance civilian protections and facilitate humanitarian aid, while al-Burhan maintains that the RSF cannot be part of any future solution. The conflict has resulted in tens of thousands of deaths and a severe humanitarian crisis.
