The Romanian Orthodox Church has distanced itself from Archbishop Teodosii of Tomi for openly supporting Calin Georgescu as “God’s messenger” and expressing admiration for Putin, Medvedev, and Trump. The Romanian Patriarchate plans to address the Archbishop’s actions for violating decisions regarding election campaigns. Archbishop Theodosius defended his statements, claiming they were not political and that he had been recruited by the Securitate in 1987.
