Romania president quits NATO chief race, Rutte in clear

Romania’s president has decided to withdraw from the race for NATO Secretary-General, leaving Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte as the front-runner. Klaus Iohannis cited lack of support from other NATO members as the reason for his decision. Rutte now appears to be the clear favorite to take over the leadership role within the alliance.
