Four members of Singapore’s Ng family, including Sino Group chairman Robert Ng and his children, have been designated as “politically significant persons” under the Foreign Interference (Countermeasures) Act due to their memberships in the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. While the Ng family members have not engaged in any egregious activity, they are required to disclose political donations and foreign affiliations annually. As of March 31, seven Singaporeans have declared their memberships in foreign political organizations, with notices issued to the four Ng family members only.
