A road rage incident in which Christopher Shaw, 40, attacked 68-year-old Christopher Lavis occurred after Lavis adhered to a 20mph speed limit and yielded to oncoming traffic. Shaw punched Lavis, causing fractures to his cheekbone, nose, and eye socket while his wife sat in the passenger seat. Newport Crown Court sentenced Shaw to a 12-month suspended sentence, ordered him to pay £1,500 in compensation, and perform 50 hours of unpaid work for the assault.
