Rights groups take UK govt to court over Israel arms sales

Rights groups and NGOs, including Amnesty and Human Rights Watch, have initiated legal action against the UK government for allegedly violating international law by supplying parts for F-35 fighter jets to Israel during the Gaza conflict. The Palestinian rights association Al-Haq argues that these components are crucial for the aircraft’s operation and that the UK has failed to prevent potential genocide by allowing such exports. Despite a partial suspension of arms sales, UK officials maintain that halting F-35 component licensing would jeopardize the global F-35 program and assert their commitment to legal obligations regarding arms exports.
