RIX Riga Airport has initiated the first stage of construction procurement for the reconstruction project of Apron 4, funded by the European Union through a contract with CINEA. The project aims to reconstruct over 80,000 square meters of the apron, create aircraft stands for various aircraft classes, establish taxiing and service roads, and improve military mobility. The project also includes the installation of an electrical substation, storage areas, lighting systems, surveillance systems, and a rainwater drainage system, with the completion expected by 2027.
