Okatakyi Dr Amanfi VII, the paramount chief of Asebu in Ghana, initiated the Pan African Village project. In response to the Ghanaian government’s “Year of Return” initiative, which encouraged people of African descent to relocate to the country, settlements were established and free land was given out. However, locals have reported that their farm land was taken and allocated to these newcomers.
