Junior Saunders, a 53-year-old waiter from Bristol, used £8,000 in tips to fund GCSE Boost, a wellbeing and careers event for students, with nearly 2,000 students in attendance. Facing challenges growing up in foster care, Junior aimed to give back and support students, especially amid rising mental health issues during lockdown. He plans to expand the initiative nationwide, focusing on improving opportunities and mental wellbeing for students in smaller towns, funding the project with his tips and promoting resilience and self-belief.
