Five people, including two foreign nationals, were killed in a helicopter crash on Mount Kilimanjaro during a medical evacuation mission. The accident occurred on Wednesday evening while attempting to rescue patients on one of the mountain’s popular climbing routes. Among the deceased were a local doctor, a tour guide, and the pilot, with investigations underway by the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority. Aircraft accidents on Kilimanjaro are rare, with the last incident reported in November 2008.
