A report by the Environmental Justice Foundation revealed that Chinese fishing vessels used North Korean crews from 2019 to 2024, violating U.N. bans and subjecting individuals to abuses at sea. North Koreans were forced to work for up to 10 years without setting foot on land, in violation of U.N. Security Council resolutions. Despite efforts to hide their presence, the use of North Korean labor on Chinese vessels bypassed legal frameworks and raised concerns about their involvement in prohibited activities.

Israel refuses entry to EU lawmaker accused of promoting boycotts of the country
Israel denied entry to European Parliament member Rima Hassan for promoting boycotts, citing her support of the BDS movement. Hassan was part of an EU-Palestine delegation but was denied entry upon arrival in Israel. Israeli legislators passed a law prohibiting entry to those denying Hamas attacks or supporting international prosecution of Israeli soldiers, in addition to those calling for a boycott of Israel.
