Renowned artist Himmat Shah dies of heart attack at 92

Renowned artist Himmat Shah, aged 92, passed away in Jaipur after suffering a heart attack. Born in Gujarat, he studied art in Bombay and Baroda, influenced by N.S. Bendre and K.G. Subramanyan, and later studied etching in Paris. Shah was known for his unique sculptures and drawings, with his last exhibition held in Delhi showcasing his work from 2020-2021. His legacy as a fiercely independent and innovative artist lives on through his prolific and boundary-pushing oeuvre.
