The remains of Harry Gleeson, who was wrongly convicted and hanged for the murder of Moll McCarthy in 1941, have been positively identified in Mountjoy Prison, 83 years after his death.
Gleeson was framed for the crime by local authorities, despite evidence pointing to his innocence, and his case has been a symbol of miscarriages of justice in Ireland.
The discovery of his remains brings closure to his family and highlights the need for continued efforts to ensure justice and accountability in the legal system.
