Red Cross sees surge in missing people as conflicts multiply

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) reported a 70% increase in missing persons, rising from 169,500 in 2019 to 284,400 by the end of last year, largely due to conflicts in Sudan, Gaza, and Ukraine. ICRC Director General Pierre Krähenbühl emphasized the need for stronger adherence to the Geneva Conventions to protect individuals during war and prevent family separations.
