Kimani Shaw, a Jamaican-born rapper known as Marnz Malone, has been deported to Jamaica after serving part of an 11-year sentence for firearm possession linked to a gang feud that resulted in a man’s death. Released early this week, Shaw had released three albums while incarcerated, with one reaching No. 66 in the charts. His involvement in the violence included being stabbed 20 times and witnessing associates commit a drive-by murder during his recovery. Shaw has expressed his intent to move away from crime and used his music to reflect on his experiences in prison.
