Canadian para hockey player Raphaëlle Tousignant advocates for health and women’s equality

Raphaëlle Tousignant, a 23-year-old Para hockey player and childhood cancer survivor, recently completed chemotherapy for breast cancer and is scheduled for a double mastectomy. Despite being diagnosed with Li-Fraumeni syndrome, which increases her cancer risk, she remains focused on her athletic goals, including advocating for a women’s Para hockey tournament in the Paralympics. Tousignant made history as the first woman on Canada’s national Para hockey team and continues to inspire change in the sport.
