Detectives searching for the body of murdered woman Rania Alayed, whose husband Ahmed Al-Khatib was convicted in 2014, have discovered human remains buried beside the A19 in Thirsk, North Yorkshire. Al-Khatib was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of his wife, but her body had never been found despite extensive searches. Greater Manchester Police found the remains after receiving new information and will continue their investigation at the scene in the coming days.
