The European Union has restarted its civilian mission at the Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt, which is set to reopen for medical evacuations on Saturday. Initially, 50 injured fighters and 50 wounded civilians will be allowed to pass through, along with escorts, with a further 100 individuals, likely students, to follow on humanitarian grounds. The crossing will operate from Gaza to Egypt only, coordinated by the Palestinian Authority and European monitors, with support from the World Health Organization for patient evacuations.
