Oklahoma defeats Belmont 84-67; Raegan Beers scores 29 points

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — Raegan Beers led No. 6 Oklahoma to an 84-67 victory over Belmont in their season opener, scoring 29 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Freshman Aaliyah Chavez added 16 points, while Payton Verhulst and Sahara Williams contributed 11 points each. Belmont, the Missouri Valley Conference preseason favorite, was led by Jailyn Banks with 16 points. Oklahoma will face No. 3 UCLA next, while Belmont hosts Brown on Friday.
