Rachel Reeves’s tractor tax could cost 200,000 jobs, warns new research

According to research by CBI-Economics, over 200,000 jobs could be lost due to the government’s proposed tractor tax, costing the economy £14.9bn. Family businesses and farms have already seen job cuts and halted investments, with around 208,000 jobs estimated to be lost by the next election. Despite opposition from supermarket giants like Tesco, the government is moving forward with the plan to impose a 20% inheritance tax on farms valued at £1m or more, causing significant damage to the economy and family-owned businesses.
