The annual Quadrantids meteor shower will reach peak visibility in Southern California over the next two days, with around 25 meteors per hour expected. Prime viewing will be Friday morning into Saturday, best seen in a dark area away from city lights. The source of the meteor shower, asteroid 2003 EH1, is believed to be a possible “dead comet,” although its exact nature remains uncertain.
