Wellington man jailed for five years for sexually violating child

A man in his late 20s was sentenced to a five-year jail term for sexually violating a young girl in Wellington District Court. Before being taken away, his family tearfully said their goodbyes in the courtroom, with one man expressing disbelief and anger. The man had rubbed his hand against the child’s genitals and warned her not to tell anyone, leading to his conviction on four charges of sexual offending between 2010 and 2013.
