Pupil dies following medical incident at South Shields school

A student tragically died following a medical emergency at St Wilfrid’s RC College in South Shields this morning. Emergency services, including police and the Great North Air Ambulance Service, responded shortly after 9:15 am. Headteacher Catherine Lennox expressed deep sorrow and stated that the school community will support each other during this difficult time, asking for privacy for the affected family. The school will remain closed for the rest of the day.
