Travis Gienger of Anoka, Minnesota won the 51st World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off in Half Moon Bay, California with a 2,471-pound pumpkin, narrowly beating his closest competitor. Despite tough weather conditions, Gienger focused on healthy soil and well-fed plants to grow his winning gourd. He plans to have the pumpkin carved in Southern California for a Halloween event after a 35-hour drive from Minnesota.
