PM Defends Andrew Bayly’s Dismissal Amid Misleading Claims

Prime Minister Christopher Luxon maintains that former Cabinet Minister Andrew Bayly deserved to be sacked following an incident in February where Bayly placed a hand on a staff member’s arm. Despite Bayly’s claims of being misled about allegations against him, Luxon supports the Department of Internal Affairs’ actions regarding the case. Bayly, who has since resigned, argues that he was incorrectly informed that the allegations had been corroborated by others, which he now disputes.
