The special prosecutor in the involuntary manslaughter case against Alec Baldwin in the deadly shooting on the set of the movie “Rust” has withdrawn an attempt to reinstate charges, following the dismissal of the case by a judge due to evidence suppression. Baldwin, who was holding a prop gun that discharged and killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, pleaded not guilty and maintained his innocence. A civil suit against Baldwin is pending, with Gloria Allred representing Hutchins’ parents and arguing that safety protocols in the workplace were not followed.
