Amazon MGM Studios is set to release “Project Hail Mary,” a sci-fi film based on Andy Weir’s novel, starring Ryan Gosling and directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller. With a reported budget of nearly $200 million, it marks one of the highest-budget non-franchise sci-fi films since “Tenet.” The film needs to gross around $500 million to be considered a success, facing challenges in attracting audiences amid a market dominated by sequels and superhero films. Its release is scheduled for March 20, 2026.
