Clara Thomann, a pregnant Santa Barbara woman and science teacher at Dos Pueblos High School, tragically fell to her death while hiking in Greece on Dec. 23. Rescued from a gorge on the island of Crete, she suffered fatal injuries, including multiple fractures to her skull and chest, resulting in the loss of her unborn child. Thomann’s family donated her organs, and her school community mourns the loss of a beloved teacher who was described as kind, dedicated, and passionate about science.
