694 people were killed and 1,670 injured in Myanmar after six earthquakes, including a 7.7 magnitude one, hit near Sagaing. The junta chief declared an emergency and appealed for aid, while neighboring countries like Thailand and China also experienced strong tremors. Prime Minister Modi offered assistance, and European nations have also extended help. The devastation included collapsed buildings, a collapsed bridge, and trapped workers in Bangkok, as well as extensive damage in Myanmar’s Mandalay region.
