In the once vibrant southern suburbs of Beirut, now largely deserted, Hezbollah militants stand guard amidst rubble adorned with portraits of slain leaders. The area still smells of gunpowder after Israeli air strikes, with buildings reduced to rubble and twisted metal. Despite the devastation, some residents remain, opening shops and fleeing during evacuation orders, while Hezbollah fighters maintain a strong presence in the ghost town.
