Pope Francis has pneumonia in both lungs, Vatican says

Pope Francis is hospitalized in Rome with bilateral pneumonia and a polymicrobial infection complicating his treatment, following a recent bout of bronchitis. The 88-year-old pope is in fair condition, eating breakfast, reading newspapers, and working from the hospital. Some Vatican events have been canceled due to his illness, and it’s uncertain if he will miss his Sunday noon blessing for a second week in a row.
