Hayfield Riding School in Bonnybridge recovered two stolen ponies, Zak and Toby, taken by two schoolgirls and found in a shed in Hallglen after being ridden bareback on a main road without helmets or hi-vis. The ponies were discovered without food or water and identified through dashcam footage shared on social media by “mortified” parents, leading to Police Scotland’s involvement in the ongoing investigation to determine the circumstances of the incident. The school expressed shock and relief at having the ponies safely returned, with plans to tighten security measures and change access codes to prevent future incidents.
